Minneapolis Neutral Evaluation Attorney: Board-Certified in Family Law

Our founding member, Minneapolis family law attorney Kathleen Newman, is one of a select number of Minnesota family law lawyers selected to serve as a mediator with the Minnesota Court of Appeals pilot program for family law mediation at the appeals stage.

In the Family Law Appellate Mediation Pilot Program, parties who appeal a family court ruling may receive an Order for Mediation after filing the first appeals papers. Parties may opt out of appellate mediation with a valid reason. If the parties agree to participate in the appellate mediation program, they will receive a list of available mediators, whom they may rank in order of preference.

In addition to Kathleen's extensive qualifications as an advocate in disputed family law matters, she is a highly trained and competent mediator. She serves on both the Financial Early Neutral Evaluation and the Social Early Neutral Evaluation panels in Hennepin County.
